The film follows nine different stories that take place on Christmas Eve. One story is better than another. All great. And the story of a boy who fell in love with his classmate, and about a writer-loser, whose girlfriend cheats on him with his brother, and about the Prime Minister who fell in love with his secretary, all wonderful, but the best is about rock star Billy Meck, everything is right above all praise, and the great male role of Billy Meck, who plays in this film Bill Nighy, and his monologue: “Hello kids....” A message from Uncle Billy... Don't buy drugs... Go into show business and get it for nothing, he laughed a lot, he’s one of the few people who always speaks the truth about his work, people, everything. In general, straight opened for himself and Billy Meck and Bill Nighy at once in one person, he played well, above all praise.
The only story I didn't like was about a girl who has an older brother in a mental hospital and is in love with Carl. I didn’t like it, probably because it didn’t have a happy ending like the other eight stories, maybe for some other reason, but I didn’t like it.
In this film, I rediscovered actor Hugh Grant. Before watching this movie, he was just an English actor for me, but after that movie he became more respected. I don’t know how to say it, but the fact remains.
In total, 8 test stories, 1 uncredited. That's 8.8 points. Plus 0.2 for the story about Billy Meck and the acting of Bill Nyin.
In the end: one of the best romantic comedies, with subtle English humor, which will not leave anyone indifferent.
