-have you seen "Tourist"? - yes, a beautiful guide to Europe! “Tourist” is not at all what I came to see, but it turned out not very bad.
Let's start with the positive.
Beautiful landscapes of Venice, France ... probably travel agencies will thank the creators of the film, because sales of tours to these countries most likely increased after the release of this film.
The film itself is kind, there is no cruelty or violence, you can watch it in the evening to relax after a long day at work with your family. With the condition of all the terrible bloodthirsty films of recent times, "Tourist" gives a break from all this stupid cruelty.
But, strangely enough, the film is not without negative moments.
The first is the absence of J. Depp. Yes, yes, I was promised that I would see him in a different role; that in this film he played a poor man who got into a mess in which he should not have participated. I was ready to see on screen the full talent with which Johnny can perform this role. I imagined the fullness of emotion he would convey in his game. (Considering that he only has enough facial expressions for this). But I didn't see anything. It was as if he didn’t want to play, but was just relaxing, enjoying his holidays in Europe and not paying attention to the role. I'm sorry about Johnny's fans, but I am. I myself have great respect for his work, I believe that each of his characters is unique, each role is brilliantly played. But in "Tourist" he disappointed me.
The plot is far-fetched. Who said she would pick him on the train? And that the police of all the scraps of the note will immediately highlight exactly those fragments on which it is written where to look for it ... such moments that make it nothing more than a fairy tale, in the film a lot, so I will not list everything.
There is also no dynamics, at least small, at least some. At some point I thought I would just fall asleep.
In general, the picture is most spoiled by the undisguised desire to advertise Jolie. Perhaps it spoils the whole movie more than all the previous downsides combined. For the whole time on the screen tried to show Jolie in all its glory. She changes dresses like gloves, knows how to drive a boat, everyone admires her.
One gets the feeling that the film was created so that she could show off without bothering to play in luxurious outfits, in a chic atmosphere and in the company of a beautiful man (for this role she decided to choose Johnny). In an effort to show that she is divine, the director forgot that the film is watched to see the dynamics of the plot, good dialogue, thoughtful scenes, etc., and not to see Jolie from a hundred and fifty angles.
So, for the beauty of Europe, for the lack of cruelty, for some fabulous plot assessment
4 out of 10
If Johnny's performance had been better, the score would have been much higher, but he wasn't allowed to make the film any better.
