In 1994, Julian Fellowes first appeared as a screenwriter, adapting for television the famous novel for children “Little Lord Fauntleroy”. Learning that director Robert Altman needed a screenwriter who was well versed in the relationships between different classes of English society, Fellowes proposed his candidacy, and soon their collaboration began. In 2001, the drama Godsford Park was released, for the script of which Julian Fellowes was awarded the Oscar. In 2004, he published a satirical novel, Snobs, highly praised by critics and readers.
