Charles Perrault is a popular writer, widely known for his fairy tales. He was born in January 1628 in Paris. His father is Pierre Perrault. Charles Perrault left his studies at the University College of Beauvais and at one time worked as a lawyer, buying a license. He later joined his brother, the architect Claude Perrault, and served as secretary of the Academy of Inscriptions and Fine Letters from 1663 to 1695.
