Many middle-aged and older people remember the once famous Rollins Band and its founder, inspirer, permanent leader and songwriter Henry Rollins. And Henry Lawrence Garfield (the same name and surname he wore as a child) is a film actor, journalist, TV presenter, and so on and so forth.
As a child, Henry attended the Bullis Military School in his hometown of Washington. As a child, he grew up weak, and it was assumed that a routine life would strengthen his spirit and body. In fact, this happened, although at first the physically weak boy often became the object of aggression from his peers. Henry loved music and books, was fond of punk and heavy rock. Having tried many unskilled professions, having “been at the bottom” of American life, Henry decides to swim to the surface and music helps him in this.
Garfield's first punk band, State of Alert, broke up after releasing one disc. But at that moment, the singer was looking for the band Black Flag. That's why they invited Henry over. He performed under the pseudonym Rollins (in honor of the favorite jazzman Sonia Rollins). Soon Henry Rollins became famous not only in America, but also in Europe. Black Flag released several albums, one of which Family Man consisted exclusively of works by Henry Rollins. All this time, Henry keeps a diary that became the basis for the book Get In The Van: On The Road With Black Flag.
When Black Flag disbanded due to internal conflicts, Rollins decided to quit music. However, he begins to create his own personal project, teaming up with Chris Haskett. This is how the Rollins Band was born. In parallel, Henry starred in the movies. He played several roles in low-budget films, and in the 90s began to appear in blockbusters. One of the famous paintings in his participation -
