Sho Kosugi began studying martial arts at the age of five, and at the age of seven, he met his slightly odd seventy-year-old neighbor, Yamamoto-san, who had long conversations with the boy about ninja art. For five years, this old neighbor was secretly his ninjutsu teacher. When the boy was twelve years old, one day he went to his Master and saw the house empty, as if no one had ever been there. They never met again. Sho studied karate, judo, kendo, a little later – Kobudo and Yai-Do.
At the age of eighteen, Sho Kosugi became the Japanese karate champion. In 1968, he moved to the United States to attend college and continue his studies in California.
America joyfully accepted the young guy, since Shaw had very little knowledge of English, but very soon Kosugi became still a student at the University of California, after which he received a bachelor's degree in economics.
During his studies, Shaw tried to act in action films, but this work did not bring the desired money, so the guy had to give martial arts lessons.
Soon Sho Kosugi was invited to take part in the filming of the feature film “The Exit of the Ninja” (1981), where he was to duplicate the play of Franco Nero. After the release of the film, a wave of ninjutsu fascination swept across the country, and Sho himself gained popularity and many fans. In the second film “Revenge of the Ninja” (1982), Shaw received the leading role.
In 1987, it came out on screens.
