He began his career as an ordinary photographer, and then went to gain knowledge at the University of Westminster, or rather, at the film school at this prestigious London Institute. After graduating in 1988, he began filming short and documentaries. In the early stages of his career, he also directed more than a hundred videos for such musicians and bands as U2, PJ Harvey, Robbie Williams, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and many others. In 2004 he was awarded the prestigious Lumiere Medal of the Royal Photographic Society for his contribution to the art of cinematography.
