Glen Hansard (born April 21, 1970 in Dublin, Ireland) is a songwriter/guitarist for the Irish band The Frames. On April 21, 2006, he released his first solo album The Swell Season on Overcoat Recordings alongside Czech singer and multi-musician Marketa Irglova on violin and viola, and Bertrand Galen from France on cello.
Glen Hansard also starred in the 2006 Irish film Once Upon a Time, in which Glen plays a Dublin street musician, and Irglova a flower seller. One of the songs they wrote together for the film ("Falling Slowly") won an Oscar in February 2008.
