In 1949, he was invited to the show “Hello Everyone”, and after 6 years, the “Benny Hill Show” itself comes out. Here he proved himself not only as an actor, he “was in the shoes” of a musician, songwriter and director. Over the years, the program was a huge success, and in 1971 it was awarded the British Television Academy Award. Benny started to have followers. People tried to repeat the facial expressions and gestures of their favorite hero. Even the policemen, paying their respects, turned their palm upwards, as Fred Scully, the character of the show, did. After 30 years of success and popularity, the actor decides to parody the royal family and show British politics. As a result, he is attacked by the wrath of Margaret Thatcher, who ordered the harshest censorship of every Hill program. This was followed by an onslaught from fellow actors, who spoke very negatively about him and his program.
