Leonid Grigorievich Barats is a Russian actor, director and screenwriter, one of the founders of the comic theater “Quartet I” was born in Odessa in 1971. He received his name in honor of his great-grandfather, although his parents originally planned to name the boy Alexei. Barats never put up with his "passport" name, and so friends and colleagues call him Lesha. Parents from childhood predicted a creative future: a musician or an actor, and in their predictions were not mistaken.

At school, Leonid Barats studied together with his future colleague - Rostislav Hayit. They were friends from the first grade and after graduation together entered the course of V. Korovin in GITIS on the pop faculty. There they met with Alexander Demidov and Kamil Larin. After graduating from the Russian Academy, together with director Sergey Petreykov, friends organized in 1993 the famous theater “Quartet I”.
It was Leonid Barats who wrote the play in 2001.
Radio Day After the success, it was decided to write a continuation of the play - so the play "Election Day" was born, in writing the script of which Barats himself, Rostislav Hayit and Sergey Pereikov participated. In 2007 and 2008, the eponymous sparkling film adaptations of these famous comedies were released.
In 2010, it was released on wide screens.

While studying at GITIS, Leonid Barats met actress Anna Kasatkina, who also plays episodic roles in her husband’s paintings and performances (the role of Ani in the film Radio Day). The couple has two daughters – Elizabeth and Eva. In addition to filming, Leonid Barats was fond of football and playing the piano. /
