He was invited to audition for Edmond Keosayan’s film “The Elusive Avengers.” The director was looking for a girl for the role of Xanka Shchus – Danka’s sister, who was to be played by Viktor Kosykh.
Surprisingly, Valentina was unusually similar to Vitya, and the approval of the role occurred almost immediately. An important factor was the fact that the girl in abundance had all the qualities necessary for the role: she was very athletic, contact and, most importantly, looked like a boy.
Following the first film, which had a huge success with the audience, followed by a sequel – “New Adventures of the Elusive”. By this time, all four guys who played the main roles - Vitya Kosykh (Danka), Misha Metelkin (Valerka-gymnazi), Vasya Vasilyev (Yashka-Gypsy) and Valya Kurdyukova (Ksanka) - became idols of teenagers.
The second film was no less successful than the first. But the third picture - "The Crown of the Russian Empire, or Elusive Again" - was much weaker than the first two. Perhaps the fact is that the main characters have grown up, and what looked good in the children's version, turned out to be uninteresting, unsuitable in adult performance.
In 1970, she entered the circus school, but did not study for long. During the tour, she met a young singer Boris Sandulenko, whom she soon married. In 1973, they had a son, and later a daughter.
