Efim Kopelyan (1912-1975) graduated from the architectural faculty of the Academy of Arts in Leningrad, but could not overcome his passion for theater. In 1935, Efim Zakharovich graduated from the theater studio and was accepted into the legendary BDT.

Being mainly a theatrical actor, Efim Kopelyan did a lot in cinema. The path to notable roles, however, was a long one - almost thirty years Efim Zakharovich starred in episodes, until the time came for ataman Burnash in "The Elusive Avengers" and "New Adventures of the Elusive."
A big role of Kapelyan in the movie was the image of patron Savva Morozov in the film "Nikolai Bauman".
Kopelyan was remembered by the audience in the image of General Sergeyev in the films “The Fate of a Resident” and “The Mistake of a Resident” and as Svidrigailov in the film “Crime and Punishment”, created based on Dostoevsky’s novel. Another notable and colorful role of the artist is the merchant Kaftanov in
.
Possessing a soulful, memorable voice, Efim Zakharovich became a voiceover artist. For the first time in this role, he tried himself in the comedy Adam and Heva. Then Kopelyan was heard in many documentary and popular science films, and his special work was the voiceover text in the series "Seventeen Moments of Spring": this film is simply impossible to imagine without Kopelyan's voice.
In the theater Efim Zakharovich worked until his last days, as well as in the cinema. Not having a catchy appearance, some special gestures, he, according to colleagues, was still incredibly attractive - his naturalness, sincerity and kindness. /
