Freddy Mercury (sometimes transliterated as Freddie Mercury, born Farrukh Bulsara), English rock singer, was born on September 5, 1946 in the village of Panchgani on the island of Zanzibar. In 1954, Farrukh was sent to St. Peter’s School. There, school friends give him the name Freddie, which later became the stage name of the singer. In 1964, the Freddie family moved to England. There, the young man is seriously engaged in painting and in 1969 he graduated from the art college.
In 1970, the singer joined the Smile team, which was later renamed Smile.
. Then Freddie and takes the pseudonym Mercury. Two years later, the band's debut album comes out. Mercury is the author of one of Queen's most popular works, the song "Bohemian Rhapsody", recorded in 1975. The composition for nine weeks occupies the top of the UK charts, and the video goes down in history as the first professional video.
In 1977, the album “News of the World” was released. Its circulation is more than ten million. Two of Queen’s songs, “We Will Rock You” and the anthem of many sports fans, “We Are The Champions”, are amazingly popular. The tune “We Will Rock You” is used by many artists. The song has a special rhythm, which is created by two kicks and slapping hands. In the spring of 1985, Mercury’s debut solo album was released. In July 1985, a concert was held at Wembley Stadium, in which Sting, in addition to Queen, took part. "Scorpions" and other performers. In 1987 and 1988, the group held joint performances with the opera singer Montserrat Caballe.
In 1988, Freddie Mercury released his solo album Barcelona. In 1991, with Queen, Mercury recorded Innuendo. It includes the famous song "The Show Must Go On", which guitarist Brian May composed, knowing that Freddie had AIDS. The posthumous album with the recording of Mercury's voice Queen released in 1995.
