Arctic Monkeys, a British indie rock band, was formed in 2002 in High Green, near Sheffield. The founders were vocalist and guitarist Alex Turner, drummer Matt Helders, bassist Andy Nicholson, drummer Matt Helders and guitarist Jamie Cook. The success of the band came immediately after the release of the first singles in the fall of 2005 and early 2006. "Arctic Monkeys" "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" and "When The Sun Goes Down" lead the national charts.

In early 2006, Arctic Monkeys released their first album, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. Although even before the official release of the demo "Arctic Monkeys" was free to download via the Internet, on the first day was sold more than 118 thousand copies of the record. Thus, the British record for the speed of distribution of records was achieved. The band gives a number of concerts in the UK and the US, where the audience is warmly received. In the spring of 2007, the band released the album Favorite Worst Nightmare.
