On his account by the end of the war was already 62 enemy aircraft — so many could not boast of no one else not only in Soviet aviation, but in the entire aviation of the allies. Ivan Kozhedub proved his superiority over American fighter pilots once again in the 50s, during the Korean War. Officially, it is still accepted that Ivan Nikitovich was sent there as commander of the 324th Fighter Aviation Division (64 corps), but he did not make combat sorties.
