The Sound of Music Live! is a television special that was originally broadcast by NBC on December 5, 2013. Produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the special was an adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Broadway musical The Sound of Music, starring country singer Carrie Underwood as Maria von Trapp, performed and televised live from Grumman Studios in Bethpage, New York.
Meron felt that if the telecast were successful, the concept could become "another kind of entertainment that can exist on TV." By her request, Underwood's casting as Maria was personally endorsed by Julie Andrews, who starred in the 1965 film. close

The first film in the Seto language in the world speaks about the brightest heroine of a small people, the folk singer Hilana Taarka, a woman who lived her whole life as an outcast in a small chimney-less hut; as an unmarried mother of children in poverty, begging her bread, doing odd jobs and singing. She always sang the truth, sometimes bitter, sometimes funny, sometimes cruel. She was feared, despised and coveted. Taarka sang throughout her remarkable life, throughout her fate, from a small Seto village to international fame. And she sang well. Really well. Taarka became the Mother of the Song, a legend. But as a woman, as a member of the community, the Seto people never really accepted her. Taarka - a despised woman and a worshiped singer. close

As quintessentially homegrown as a game of cricket or a plate of fish-and-chips, Morris dancing is one of Englands most ancient roots traditions. And yet to your average man on the street, its seen as little more than a national joke. And a bad national joke at that. Something to ridicule. Something to be embarrassed about. A heartfelt docu-ballad in praise of birthplace, bloodline and rural brotherhood, WAY OF THE MORRIS follows Tim on a deeply personal journey from the barleyfields of his childhood to the killing fields of The Somme, as he traces the poignant link between the spirited folk revival of the mid-1970s and the true story of the young Adderbury Morris side so decimated by the carnage of the First World War. close

The historical drama Antonio Vivaldi tells the story of one of the most brilliant composers in history, whose fate was not easy, and the music is inexpressibly beautiful. The wonderful musical creation of the joint American-Belgian production will be a real pleasure for the musical gourmet.
Beginning
The film “Antonio Vivaldi” tells about the youth of the famous violinist, which he spent in the romantic and mysterious Venice. The hero of this story was born in the “city of rivers” – Venice, the music was in his blood even before he was born, since his father Giovania was also a violinist, and it was he who later gave his son his first lessons. Vivaldi’s father served in the church, which largely determined the future church career of the boy. He receives a sacred rank and begins service, but for frequent absenteeism, the musician is excommunicated.
A young man moves to a new place of work - he becomes a music teacher in an unusual educational institution - there are girls who were illegally born by Venetian courtesans. What will Antonio choose next? Will he give up his main passion, music?
The film was produced
Director Boris Damast shot the film “Antonio Vivaldi” in 2013 from the script, which he created together with Jeffrey Friedman. Damast gathered in the film a wonderful cast: Alfred Molina, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sebastian Koch, Claire Foy. The film crew managed to interestingly show the fate of the musician, unfolding against the backdrop of beautiful landscapes of Venice. close
