In the men's boudoir, in other words, in the smoking room of a fancy gambling house, four men drank and smoked cigars. They were neither young, nor old, nor beautiful, nor ugly; but they all had one difference, which gave them veterans of love battles, that almost indescribable expression of cold and mocking sadness, which clearly says: “We have lived long enough for our pleasure and are now looking for something that we can love and honor.”
One of them turned the conversation on women. It would be wiser not to talk about them at all; but many intelligent people over a glass of wine are not averse to banal themes. Then the narrator is usually listened to as they would listen to music coming from the ballroom. close

Tongue-in-cheek look at the French Riviera, especially in summer when it overflows with tourists. Reviews its history and famous visitors; displays its faux-exotic buildings, its crowded beaches, its trees and monuments; and, pokes fun at the colors women wear and the vagaries of fashion. The film celebrates the use of "Eden" as a place name, suggesting that paradise comes to the coast after all are gone, perhaps only on a remote island beach. close

The short film “Red Fountains” is a historical drama, a story about the fate of one of the veterans, winners in the war against fascism, the hero of the Great Victory.
Timofey Timofeyevich participated in the Victory Parade on Red Square in June 1945. 65 years after those events, he was invited from the taiga hinterland to Moscow to receive an anniversary medal and again take part in the festive parade.
For all these years, Timofey Timofeyevich has never been to the capital. He remembers Moscow of the 45th year, and the happy faces of the winners, but not yet veterans, illuminated by the festive fireworks. Many solemn events were prepared for the veteran’s arrival – lunch at the city hall, a meeting with schoolchildren, a visit to the Armed Forces Museum, but all this is not so interesting for him. Much more veteran would like to walk through the streets of Moscow, and remember the time when the young winner he walked through the festive Moscow.
For his companion, a young lieutenant, a representative of the Ministry of Defense named Vovchik, this walk becomes a real revelation, an opportunity to touch a story about which he judged very superficially from books and films. Especially wants to see the hero of the painting Red Fountains in Victory Park. They are a symbol of the memory of all those who passed through the fire of the war alive, and of those who could not reach the Victory, who should always remain in the memory of both the state and ordinary people, ordinary citizens of the country saved from fascism. close

In February 1945, more than four hundred Soviet prisoners of war officers escaped from the 20th death block of the Mauthausen concentration camp. Having interrupted the guards on the towers, overcome the 3.5-meter stone wall and barbed wire under tension, these hungry, naked, exhausted people broke free.
