In this short film, Ginger Lynn Allen plays the night club stripper/prostitute who is trying to raise her 12 year old daughter. We see daily scenes from her daily life. We hear the story both from the daughter's point of view and her mother's. The mother who is over 35 says she always wanted to be rock star. Her daughter indistinctly and unconsciously questions his mother's way of raising her. For instance, she says things sort of "my mother tells me that I should never start smoking but she smokes a lot" while her mother is smoking as her daughter is asleep or "my mother tells me not to watch a lot of TV because there is too much garbage on TV but she just watches TV more than I do." Ginger Lynn Allen's acting is quite good. Her striptease polo dance and the brutal sex she had to suffer at the end of the movie are among the most memorable scenes of the movie. I guess these scenes could have been more careful if the movie had not been shot in documentary-like voice-over. close

December, 1941. The Second World War is in full swing. Blockade Leningrad, besieged by German troops. For the remaining civilians, the frozen, silent city itself becomes the enemy. But life doesn't stop. Contrary to common sense, it clings to the icy walls of houses, hides behind the curtains of masking, smolders with coals in iron “bourgeois”.
The heroes of the film are a blockaded family. We will only be with them for a day, but its length is comparable to the length of a small life.
Death, blood, hunger and cold swarm around, and the people of the besieged city, having survived in hand-to-hand combat, survived clinical deaths, did not lose the ability to feel and love. People in the blockade are people. That's why they won.

Music videos for Britney Spears' third album, Britney, along with other performances and special features. On her third album the simplicity of the title belies the breadth and depth of each song, as the music deftly flows from pop to R&B, to lush balladry to funk and techno. The video illustrations of the hits "I'm A Slave 4 U" and "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" prove that Britney's signature style continues to cause a sensation and surprise at every turn. close

This series of three works is part of the “household scenes” project, a corpus in development. It is a set of vignettes, cinematographic tableaux, built around the repeated gestures of my parents' daily life. I present these scenes sometimes as sequence shots, sometimes as a succession of cut-out shots. Some depict only one parent, with particular emphasis on how he/she negotiates domestic space. With these paintings, imagined in various environments and by a treatment specific to the medium, I work to reveal the singularity of the places, the movement of the figures and the relationship between the two. close
A brilliant observational documentary filmed at the Civil Registry office in St. Petersburg, where people come to have births, marriages, divorces and more
A brilliant observational documentary filmed at the Civil Registry office in St. Petersburg, where people come to have births, marriages, divorces and deaths registered. 'It’s like a theatre here', one says in the beginning of the film, and it indeed is, the Theater of Life. The young women working in the office have a job that shifts from being verbally attacked and called idiots, to situations where they are subject to flirt, or where they master the happy ceremony of marriage. Faces, joy, sorrow, fun, despair... It’s all very well composed, rhythmical, with atmosphere conveyed, and lives up to what a documentary should be: multilayered and universal. And about Life. close
