In this documentary Roy Lichtenstein is interviewed and discusses his life and art work, what influenced him, where his ideas came from, how his art adapted and how and why it changed over time. He discusses the Pop Art movement, a bit, mostly how he was one of a number of artists making art that was then called Pop Art. Also interesting is Lichtenstein tells what different art critics have said about different phases of his art and he shares his personal reactions to their statements. Additionally some footage of people criticizing and discussing his artwork is included, almost in a “he said, she said” manner which makes the viewer think about how sometimes what others say about an artist’s work may be a bit off or just wrong. Contrary to what non-artists may think, artists do usually have a reason or an inspiration behind what they create. Lucky for us this documentary allows us into the brilliant mind of Roy Lichtenstein. close

However, their deceptions eventually cross paths, resulting in a series of crises that threaten to spoil their romantic pursuits; Jack of his love Gwendolen Fairfax, and Algernon of his belle Cecily Cardew. close

Katie can read minds. Being desirable, the male minds she reads are all thinking of one thing. She always responds by hitting them and storming off without explanation. Daniel is an expert in body language and interprets this as a sign she wants to be pursued. Since Daniel spends most of his time, when not terrorizing his students, pursuing women, Katie gets ever more exasperated that he is treating her exactly as he treats every presentable female from the motorcycle cop to the squeegee girl. She cannot read minds when her eyes are covered, or when minds are thinking in a foreign language, so she misinterprets Sandip's desire for hunger. She also holds Daniel responsible for his subconscious desire for his friend's wife (Caroline). close

There is only one great sculptor of the nineteenth century (Claude Monet called him “the great of the great”) – Auguste Rodin. Only he opened up new possibilities in the art of plastic, expanded its range and enriched the language. He combined boldness, realism of searches, vitality of images, energetic pictorial modeling, fluidity of form, incompleteness of works with dramatic design, striving for philosophical concepts.
The stylistics of Rodin’s later works gave rise to a judgment about him as the founder of impressionism in sculpture. The search for movement, the tendency to the picturesque “blurring” of volumes, the addiction to fragments bring him closer to Claude Monet or Degas, and the pathetic and fundamental “literature” of images brings him closer to Van Gogh. close
