“I am a Russian soldier” – the words of the hero of the Brest Fortress, Lieutenant Nikolai Pluzhnikov, became the title of the film dedicated to the first months of the Great Patriotic War. The film is based on the novel by Boris Vasiliev “Not on the Lists”.
A graduate of the border school, a recent schoolboy Kolya Pluzhnikov, arrives on June 21, 1941 at a new duty station - in Brest. On the last pre-war evening, he meets the girl Mirra, who then, in the flames of shelling and fighting, becomes his guide in the casemates of the Brest fortress.
Nicholas, who became an elusive saboteur, manages to hold out in the fortress until April 1942. His comrades are killed, the faithful Mirra leaves and does not return, and one day the fascists manage to drive Pluzhnikov into a trap. When from the cellars of the fortress comes to light gray, ageless man and proudly raised head goes to meet the enemies, they give him the highest military honors.

In Arabic, “mameluke” means a white slave, a prisoner. In Egypt, this name was given to prisoners of war who had been sold into slavery from Georgia and other countries of the Caucasus. The action of this drama starts in Georgia in the late 18th century. Two friends are abducted and sold into slavery. One ends up in Egypt, the other - in Venice. Years later, they meet by the ancient pyramids, in the desert where a battle is going on between the armies of Bonaparte and Ali-bey, the ruler of Egypt. In a combat with a French officer, the Mameluke injures him. Falling from his horse onto the sand, the officer exclaims in Georgian: “Vai, nana!” (“Oh, mother!”). And the Mameluke recognizes in him a mate of his childhood games. close

Events take us to the beginning of World War II in the small town of Stavrovo. Its unique location, a passing railway and a fork in several roads, proximity to the front line, made it attractive to German troops. They placed a rather large garrison in the city. In the city and in its outskirts, an underground was organized. Most of which were recent graduates of the school. This is a story about two fates, two former schoolchildren - Alexei and Dmitry. The first went underground and tried in every possible way to prevent the invaders, giving his life for his homeland. The second sided with the enemy and became an executioner for his own compatriots. close
