One day, Roger learns an area business association is sponsoring a contest for a family that can break a world record, with the grand prize being a new car. Suddenly, Roger gets a brainstorm -- if his son can open and shut a door 40,000 times in 24 hours, the car will be theirs. 15-year-old Michel, however, is not at all happy to have been drafted into this new responsibility, especially when dad builds a practice door in the backyard and finds a trainer to teach Michel how to open and close it with greatest efficiency. close

In a small Polish village live four old friends who once served as cavalrymen in the Pilsudski Legions. They live themselves, live, remembering the deeds of past days and long-soaked awards for courage received from the Commandant himself. Only the oldest of them, Yakubek, carefully preserves his sword. With her, he asks his friends to bury him and seriously prepares for the transition to another world, where his first love, who died from a stray Bolshevik bullet, has been waiting for 50 years. But the Apostle Peter does not let the hero of three wars into Paradise with a sword, and the Commandant himself, who came out to the noise, orders him to turn back, reminding him of the oath - before his death, pass the sword to his grandson, in honor of the sacred tradition of the Polish legionaries. But here's the trouble - Yakubek has no grandchildren, because his only son, a botanist, is interested not in women, but only in studying and breeding giant slivogras, hoping to break the records of Michurin and Lysenko and plant frost-resistant seedlings at the North Pole. So the four cavalrymen take on the task of marrying the unsuspecting Janechka, even against his will. To do this, they have to throw out a variety of trouts, and our veterans do not occupy fantasies. close
