In the footsteps of the head of the King of France are the authors of the film “In Search of the King’s Head”. Historians have long known the sad fate more
In the footsteps of the head of the King of France are the authors of the film “In Search of the King’s Head”. Historians have long known the sad fate of the body of King Henry IV, one of the most beloved kings in French history. Henry of Navarre, who ruled the kingdom of Navarre for forty years, of which almost twenty also ruled the whole country, became the man who put an end to the fratricidal war between Catholics and Protestants, giving believers freedom of religion. Henry was the victim of the religious fanatic François Ravalhac, who ended his life in 1610 when the king was 57 years old.
However, the fate of his embalmed body was not put to rest after the king was buried in the Paris Royal Basilica of Saint-Denis. Almost two hundred years later, at the height of the French Revolution, in 1793 the royal tomb was opened, the bodies of kings and queens were abused, and Henry’s body was cut off. Since then, its fate has been very vague and almost unknown, only occasionally there were reports that it is in private collections.
A new page in the history of the head of the king began in 2008, when scientists finally got it at their disposal. There were a number of serious questions to be answered, including the most important one: Is it true that this head belongs to King Henry IV? close

The main attraction of Yellowstone National Park, the oldest nature reserve in the world, is the Old Handmaid, a geyser that has never let its spectators down. Every 70 minutes, he punctually shoots a majestic fountain of hot steam into the sky. Every year millions of tourists observe this and other geothermal phenomena in one of the most volcanically active areas of our planet. However, geological phenomena are not the only attraction of this wild region in the Rocky Mountains. On an area of about 9 thousand square kilometers there are mountains and valleys; waterfalls, lakes and rivers full of fish; precipices and plateaus; meadows and virgin forests. The richness of the park is also a delightful animal world. It is home to bison, grizzly bears and baribals, Canadian sheep and wapiti deer. An exciting journey through Yellowstone we begin at the so-called Roosevelt Arch, and the next points of our excursion will be the Mammoth Hot Springs, Tower Falls, the Great Prismatic Spring, other geysers and fumaroles, Hayden Valley and Lake District. close

After seven years in Namibia and Angola, seven years of research into the life of the Owahimba people, photo and video filming, Rina Sherman, creator of the film Paris de mes exils, returns to Paris, the city that in 1984 became her home, after she was expelled from South Africa. This return coincides with the death of three of her great friends: Jean Rouche, a filmmaker and true friend, Didier Contan, a journalist and soul mate, and Chief Etangha, her spiritual father.
Embracing conflicting feelings – the joy of returning and the pain of loss, Rina constantly thinks about her departed friends, about the Ovahimba people, where many close people also remain. These feelings, thoughts and experiences formed the basis of the film “Paris of My Exiles” – a kind of reflection on urban life, the pain of loss, loneliness, the search for truth, love, the peoples of Namibia and Angola, the values of their lives that remain unchanged despite changing times and mores. close

The Norwegian documentary film “Doing the Norway” follows residents of the small town of St. Petersburg, Alaska, who celebrate Norway’s Independence Day more
The Norwegian documentary film “Doing the Norway” follows residents of the small town of St. Petersburg, Alaska, who celebrate Norway’s Independence Day in the most original ways.
At the end of the 19th century, the Norwegian immigrant Peter Bushmann settled in these places, thanks to whose economic activity in the early 20th century, a city was born, named after an enterprising and hardworking Norwegian.
Every year, on the third Sunday in May, the descendants of the Vikings celebrate Independence Day in Alaska. For 50 years in a row, a traditional festival has been held here, called the Little Festival of Norway. In the city, nicknamed “A Little Norway” for the predominance of inhabitants of Scandinavian origin, there is always a connection with this country. With great enthusiasm, demonstration of traditional crafts and national cuisine, with costumes and songs, residents take to the streets of St. Petersburg every year on the day of the festival.
Visit Norway shows how important old Norwegian culture, symbols and traditions are to these people, even though the connection with Norway is currently limited. The need for people to feel their own peculiarity and not lose their past is the main theme of this picture, offering viewers to plunge into the atmosphere of Vikings, Valkyries, music and good mood. close
