Sunday Night Theatre was a long-running series of televised live television plays screened by BBC Television from early 1950 until 1959.
The productions for the first five years or so of the run were re-staged live the following Thursday, partly because of technical limitations in this era, and the theatrical basis of early television drama. Some of the earliest collaborations between Rudolph Cartier and Nigel Neale were produced for this series, including Arrow to the Heart and Nineteen Eighty-Four. The Sunday night drama slot was subsequently renamed The Sunday-Night Play which ran for four seasons between 1960 and 1963. ITV transmitted its own unrelated run of Sunday Night Theatre between 1971 and 1974. close

Saving a person’s life – is there anything more important? For the heroes of the series “The Case of the Doctors”, there is no heroism in this. It's their daily work. Every day they go to their workplace – to an ordinary district hospital, in which everyday life is somewhat similar to a modern detective.
Each of the heroes of the series “Doctors’ Case”, whether they are doctors, nurses, security guards or nurses, has their own job. But they all follow the main rule – always be close to their patients. Often situations develop so that the staff of the hospital treats not only the body, but also the soul, unraveling sometimes incredibly confusing tangles of personal relationships, at the risk of being in very unpleasant situations.
However, they are not afraid of possible difficulties along the way, because the characters of the series “Doctors’ Case” are sure that sometimes not only a surgeon’s scalpel or an IV is important for saving a human life. Just as important in this difficult business are kind words and the simple warmth of human hearts. close
