Dark Shadows is an American gothic soap opera that originally aired weekdays on the ABC television network, from June 27, 1966, to April 2, 1971. The show was created by Dan Curtis. The story bible, which was written by Art Wallace, does not mention any supernatural elements. It was unprecedented in daytime television when ghosts were introduced about six months after it began.
The series became hugely popular when vampire Barnabas Collins appeared a year into its run. Dark Shadows also featured werewolves, zombies, man-made monsters, witches, warlocks, time travel, and a parallel universe. A small company of actors each played many roles; indeed, as actors came and went, some characters were played by more than one actor. Major writers besides Art Wallace included Malcolm Marmorstein, Sam Hall, Gordon Russell, and Violet Welles. close

Monsters is a syndicated horror anthology series which originally ran from 1988 to 1991 and reran on the Sci-Fi Channel during the 1990s. As of 2011, Monsters airs on NBC Universal's horror/suspense-themed cable channel Chiller in sporadic weekday marathons.
In a similar vein to Tales from the Darkside, Monsters shared the same producer, and in some ways succeeded the show. It differed in some respects nonetheless. While Tales sometimes dabbled in stories of science fiction and fantasy, this series was more strictly horror. As the name implies, each episode of Monsters featured a different monster which the story concerned, from the animatronic puppet of a fictional children's television program to mutated, weapon-wielding lab rats.
Similar to Tales, however, the stories in Monsters were rarely very straightforward action plots and often contained some ironic twist in which a character's conceit or greed would do him in, often with gruesome results. Adding to this was a sense of comedy often lost on horror productions which might in some instances lighten the audience's mood but in many cases added to the overall eeriness of the production. close

The Other is a mystical series consisting of twelve stories. The authors bring the viewer to the border of two worlds: the otherworldly and the real, intending to pretty tickle his nerves.
Mysterious forces are always there. Behind the apparent simplicity of everyday life, we do not notice them, and they, meanwhile, as an invisible puppeteer, direct our actions, envelop our consciousness, draw into the circle of their magical actions. Guided by these unknown forces, one of the people pronounces curses, and someone is cursed, who is destined to gain or lose faith, heal or maim his soul.
Is our fate in our hands? Or does it all depend on the invisible puppeteer pulling the strings? Can the higher powers that keep a man suddenly change mercy to anger and destroy him? What will happen to those who think they are God? Can you get your luck? Is there a price for eternal life? Many controversial and difficult questions affect the series “Other”, forcing not only to experience the fate of its characters, but also to think – is this mysterious, mystical world really far from us? close
