Superstorm originally aired on BBC One for a period of three weeks, totaling three 59 minute episodes, from 15 April 2007 to 29 April 2007. Each episode was followed by a half-hour documentary on BBC Two on extreme weather monitoring and forecasting, called The Science of Superstorms. The series was also aired on the Discovery Channel in the U.S. and Canada during the summer of 2007.
Superstorm is a co-production of BBC Worldwide, Discovery Channel and ProSieben, in association with M6 and NHK. Ailsa Orr and Michael Mosley, who made also Supervolcano, are the executive producers for BBC, while Jack E. Smith is the executive producer for Discovery Channel.

Kagami Arata works in the secret organization ZECT, which is engaged in the destruction of the worms that came to Earth with a meteorite 7 years ago. Accidentally, he encounters on the street with a mysterious and strange guy Tendo Soji.
Before the next fight with the Vormas, the ZECT authorities give the Kagami group a new system "Mask Rider (Kamen Rider)" for testing, which allows a person to resist predatory thieves. At a critical moment in the battle, Chief Kagami Tadakoro-san decides to apply the new system without waiting for an envoy from headquarters. It should be used by Kagami, but at the moment of activation Tendo Soji appears and takes possession of Zector (the key of the rider's system). Moreover, Tendo turns out to have another rider belt (the second element of the system). So Tendo Soji becomes "Kabuto Mask Rider." But only Kagami knows about it so far. . .
What if Tendo had nothing to do with Zekt? And where did he get his second belt? Should we give Tendo's bosses away who became his friend? What's Kagami gonna do?
