Wonders on turns The new work of DreamWorks studio was one of their most striking creations. The creators of Shrek, Madagascar, Lilo and Stitch made just an incredibly spectacular fairy-tale blockbuster, performing a detailed clear visual series for everyone to envy.
The main advantage here is attention to detail. For the first time, the leather cover of reptiles looks absolutely natural, the impeccable quality of the texture of the main dragon Toothless is simply amazing and makes you admire, you want to touch it, feeling this realism already tactile on yourself. Highly qualitatively executed textures of landscapes and hair, as we are talking here about Vikings, and those are not only hairy, but also bearded, and attention to such a cover requires very careful, as well as worthy study. And with the task, the animators coped with the five!
The plot is based on the books of the British writer Cressida Cowell, but this cartoon has two features: it is the background of all available books, and also here dragons do not talk, but are presented in a more animal-animal image, which looks somehow more natural, though less fabulous. In any case, the very presence of dragons already makes such a plot very fantasy and interesting, and their huge variety, sometimes even with a careful description of the advantages and disadvantages of each individual species, makes the cartoon even more fascinating and diverse. The cartoon-buster turned out to be dynamic, beautiful and very touching, demonstrating against the background of the young boy’s adventures the history of intergenerational relationships, the problems of teenagers, as well as the raised topic of the justification of parental expectations and the imposition of a life path, which is extremely important today, despite the allegedly strong difference in time intervals between the Viking era and industrial highly developed cities.
The work captures from the first seconds without having a stretched introduction. The spectacular prologue of the attack on the village instantly demonstrates the conflict between Vikings and dragons, introducing an element of adventure and fiction, delighting with its entertainment and colorful component. And after the scene, the whole story is instantly set – the acquaintance of the main character – the boy Hiccup with the dragon Toothless, a representative of the most dangerous subspecies, called the Night Fury. Next, a whole chain of events and relationships between the characters, a story of friendship and even love, and of course, first of all, a sea of exciting adventures awaits us. Here and beautiful flights, real miracles on turns, as well as training for protection from winged reptiles, and the entire cycle of tame the dragon, battle and action-battle.
In dragons, different features of the familiar inhabitants of the earth fauna are very successfully recognized. Sometimes in a cartoon element, sometimes in a rather interesting combination. It is worth highlighting, of course, the Black Fury, whose habits and even color are almost identical to the panther. And you, looking at this cute winged creature, sometimes forget that we are a reptile, and admire this graceful big cat, like a funny purring pet, whose difference in addition to large size is also in the unique ability to fly. Most dragons turned out just wonderful: very cute or just funny, they attract attention and are surprisingly remembered entirely with all the variety of species presented. Without difficulty, leaving the hall, you remember their reaction to acne or a special variety of grass, their appearance and muzzles, they fall into the soul and touch to the depths of their soul, even if some of them are naively cute, others are cartoonishly funny, and others are quite ferocious and dangerous, all of them are actually wonderful and very expressive!
The beauty of the work is also due to the professional talented work of Roger Deakins, an eight-time Oscar nominee who is one of the most popular and famous operators in the world of big cinema! So you can be sure – this cartoon is just breathtaking, and leaves a very strong impression of the visual component. Well, our version of the film in terms of acoustic perception will please with an absolute hit in the role of Mikhail Boyarsky, who voiced the blacksmith Plevaku.
Watching such an event in three-dimensional animation is necessary. This is a stunningly spectacular attraction, with perhaps the most expressive textures of water, hair, clouds and leather from all available, and it is thanks to such cartoons that the genre develops and moves forward, and the quality improves from year to year, making such bright breakthroughs. You can watch it in 3D while you can. Not quite a standard ending will add notes of novelty, and the story itself will amaze and touch the audience heart. An ideal work for family viewing, and, more simply, a real triumphant masterpiece of animation!
