Jay Baruchel is from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He was born in 1982. Neither his parents nor anyone else close to the cinema had anything to do with it, his father sold antiques, and his mother was a freelance journalist.
While in high school, Jay attended theater classes. I must say that in the United States and Canada there are theaters in many schools, they are very popular and participation in them is prestigious. You can even get a theater award for further education in college. Many schools also have art schools, such as Jay Beruchel. Baruchel liked the hypocrisy and decided to become an actor. His first steps on this path were small roles in the TV series “My Hometown” and “Are you afraid of the dark?”. He then hosted the program Popular Mechanics for Children for two years. Then followed by several more episodic roles in films and TV series. And finally, Jay Baruchel played the role that made him famous. In the movie “Million Dollar Baby”, he played with Morgan Freeman, Clint Eastwood, Hilary Swank.
In 2007-2009, Jay Baruchel starred in the films “A little pregnant”, “My name is Reed Fish”, the comedy “Soldiers of failure”, where his partner was Ben Stiller.
All these were supporting roles, and in 2010, Baruchel got the lead role in the film Too Cool for You. There he plays a security officer at Kirk Airport. As Jay himself said, he got into this movie almost by accident. He starred in Soldiers of Failure, and he was told that he was not playing very well, but there was a script specifically for him. That was the movie "Too Cool for You." In the original script, Jay's character was "The Disgusting Guy." The actor didn’t like it, so he asked, “Can we take something away?” And he and Nate Torrance started improvising. This is how the film came to be in its final form. /
