Kowalski, who is not from Madagascar. The fact that Clint Eastwood is a great actor, I think it is obvious to everyone that he is a delightful director for me was a question only until the first view of his masterpieces: Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino, Mysterious River. I had this hunch that a great actor would not make a good director, like great footballers, almost never become great coaches, but fortunately I was wrong! Director Clint, at least not inferior to Clint as an actor.
As always, the maestro plays a true patriot of his country, a war hero, a man who spent a third of his life in a factory, in general, a character of the correct old temper. But the well-deserved and honorable measured life in retirement does not go too smoothly: his most beloved man-wife dies, the area is populated by solid Koreans with whom he fought at the front and in addition to this, his sons and grandchildren only want to quickly steal his property and send it to a nursing home.
But our main character is not so simple, he is a real man with a capital letter, he will give anyone a light (I eat, eat, do not fistulate, And how will I eat, will not let go!). His life is rapidly changing, enemies become friends, and his own loved ones are only more separated from him. A lot of topical problems of the current society are touched upon in this film, and it is very embarrassing when watching the film for modern youth, who are interested only in quick profit at the expense of their grandfather, who lived a very decent life.
In this film, the excellent acting of the main character, sometimes excellent humor, a lot of acute social problems of society and a decent ending. Mr. Kowalski is a man with a capital letter who has done many good deeds for those whom he initially despised and hated. I wish Clint Eastwood to make more films in his lifetime and please at the same time with his play and his directing!
