A certain young man at one time stopped communicating with his father, when he at his wedding began to tell another of his stories, which the son has long since not believed and which have long been incredibly annoying him. A few years later, the mother called and reported that the father would soon die, then the son, along with his pregnant wife, goes to him and makes one last attempt to find out what his father was after all and whether anything he told was true. Strangely enough, it eventually turns out that much of what the son thought was fiction was in fact, however implausible it may seem.

If you go through the reviews, then many write with admiration "delusions", "porridge", "madness". There's nothing particularly strange, like the male equivalent of Alice in Wonderland. In addition, most of the narrative is a graphic representation of the fairy tales that the hero tells. What's so surprising if it's a story? Everything is logical, beautiful, very interesting, the tails of the plots intertwine, the morality in the end is summed up. In short, a great movie about a strange positive father.

By the way, I would like to note special effects – for a long screen time to create a full illusion of Siamese singers and giant – at that time it was beyond praise. Giant Matthew McGrory, by the way, was really very tall - 2.29, the earth is down to him.

Tideland

Where there are no luxurious palaces and fairy-tale princes, where ordinaryity merges with the gray haze of boredom, where everything unusual seems only in the fairy tales of a long-crazed old father, there is a door to the country of light, to the valley of dreams and to the land of eternal tides. Where the waves of the most incredible burst into our lives. And if a person still can not believe the obvious, this is the problem of the viewer, unable to understand the essence of the production of the master.

The fairytale genre is diverse, and Tim Burton managed to combine this diversity into a single story, showing the most diverse sides of incredible stories, unexpected turns and endless adventures. The terrible story of a one-eyed witch is closely intertwined with the drama of an unrequited loving girl, and immersed in the land of fantasies sings around the world and decides to rob a bank. Prepare yourself for the most incredible journey.

Surprising literally every turn, the story thus does not bother, and in the end, you can consider the storyline at all as passing smoothly into each other fabulous episodes. Well-chosen actors will play each scene at the highest level, and attention to small details will present the next surprises.

The ability to shoot for everyone separates the skill of a true storyteller, from the hand of an inexperienced amateur. And Burton showed his talent as a true maestro in all its glory. Such a family and kind movie with many subtexts is unlikely to be able to shoot someone else. Having demonstrated a lot of meaningful meaning in each episode of the film, the director managed to present each scene in such a way that at different ages the viewer caught something of his own and something for himself, and then over time he looked at the same things differently, reviewing this work again. And most importantly, the film is not boring, and is really very recommended for viewing throughout the life of everyone.

Some are constantly looking for the blue bird of happiness, others are trying to catch their big fish. Someone tries to distinguish truth from lies, and for many embellished reality is much better than any fairy tale or fiction. Difference of views and attitudes, conflicts of generations, as well as personal growth, change and transformation of each - about all this and much more, this film will tell.

Such works leave a mark in memory for a long time, remembering individual quotes, certain scenes and episodes, as well as very bright characters, which are simply impossible to forget. The film leaves a mark on the heart, and touches to the depths of the soul. And the viewer himself plunges into the story, as if inside himself, and there in the depths tries to find his big fish. A masterpiece of all ages and for all times.
