Runaway train A train without a driver, longer than a skyscraper, loaded with an abundance of chemicals and thereby threatening an environmental disaster for the nearest settlements and one large city, rushes at all times along the tracks. A sightseeing train loaded with schoolchildren leaves, which also threatens an extremely unpleasant collision. Many people try to stop the fugitive train, but is anyone capable of this? An experienced mechanic, Denzel Washington, and a novice who has barely completed train management courses, Chris Pine, bravely take up the case even against the will of their own superiors and the plans of the police. A new brilliant and dynamic thriller from Tony Scott, could be safely called, say, ' Speed 3' where instead of Reeves, the adrenaline adventure went to Pine and Washington.
What at first looks like an attempt to film a children's mathematical problem about ' from point A came the train...' in fact turns into a much less straightforward action, where, despite the monotony of the plot, regularly meet skillfully arranged by the director spectacular moments, causing delight after delight. The truth of one of the main intrigues of the movie trailer is lost at the very beginning, reducing the share of tension and experiences, but gaining momentum, like a rushing train, exhibited in the film by such a man-made monster, the film becomes more fascinating and exciting.
Various attempts to leave the rushing ' skyscraper' also do not let you get bored. And let some seem not at all realistic ideas - firstly, in such a situation it is worth trying everything, even with minimal chances, and secondly, not every idea will be successful, and by the end of the story the logical part will not cause the slightest questions, and certainly not a laugh. The film is full of events and dynamics, and quite bright supporting characters in every possible way try to help the duo Pine / Washington, then prevent their ideas from being realized.
As for the duo, the actors worked well. Each has its own interesting story, each in its own way charismatic and cool. Sympathetic and respectful, they don’t just get along, and their conflict within the film is just as interesting to watch. The cast is given to the maximum, regularly causing certain emotions by their behavior and presentation of characters. The intense and emotional film turned out exactly as it should be. And largely not only due to good plot twists, but also the acting.
To all this, it is worth adding the signature recognizable style of Tony Scott, making his work unique and special. The film is sustained in this director's handwriting completely and completely, and the tandem of this director with Denzel Washington and do want to see again and again, these guys worked very well, regularly giving out beautiful samples of the genre. And ' Unmanageable' just as deservedly should be ranked among the best merits of Scott Jr., but still not to his film masterpieces, as ' Anger' and ' Deja-vu' The film is inferior to them, but it will surely find its enthusiastic and satisfied viewer. Tony again shot a fascinating and emotionally tense thriller, which looks with interest and delights with many of its elements.
