A tribute to Andy Kaufman. There is a special category of films - biographies of actors, singers, etc. In such films, we see the first steps of the actor, his first successes, failures, triumphs; here he is preparing for the performance, now he is performing, here with friends after the performance. Perhaps such scenes are close to those involved in show business. They don’t bother me and they don’t tell me anything. Andy Kaufman was, to put it mildly, an unusual comedian. He often refused to joke, making the audience laugh. Denial of comedy can also be funny. Contemporaries did not understand whether Kaufman was a man not of this world, or he always played the role of such a man. Great, but what is the movie about? The film essentially tells us that there was such a unique person, Andy Kaufman. However, it is not clear from him what his biography should tell us. Milos Forman could make a great movie. Directing in Man on the Moon is fine, but the material itself is not capable of producing a strong film.
