A powerful film from 1986, the beginning of Perestroika. It is extremely clear about one of the few most important things that a person has - his dignity. The fact that a person cannot be insulted and humiliated, encroaching on his dignity. That it is worth standing to the death, defending it, if only for its own peace of mind. This is very dissonant with what is considered to be normal for an individual reasonable and civilized with understanding to treat situations when the force breaks straw, and be able to find in them their own comfortable place as possible - with pragmatic and diplomatic branches, that leaving the scoundrel the opportunity to save his face is profitable, etc.
The film is consonant with the lines of the composition of K. Nikolsky “In my soul the sediment of evil”, about consolation in only one thing – to stand to death on your own, although the game is not worth a candle. Otherwise, dignity will atrophy, and you will have to live in other coordinates of relations.
At the height of the conflict, the film ends. Happy ending doesn't smell. Unusual ending.
Great storytelling. The tension of the process of convergence of principled negotiating positions in the film is not inferior to the inherent discussions about the limitation of strategic nuclear weapons. In the role of the second plan, Elena Mayorova is remembered.
