In the village, lost in the vastness of the Yaroslavl region, a film crew comes to make a documentary about the famous folk craftsman Bolotnikov Mikhail Lukich, who became famous thanks to the pottery business. Communicating with an old nugget potter (Andrey Fite), joining the old Russian craft, listening to songs that the master slowly sings, giving the shapeless clay perfect outlines, the young film director Denis (Eduard Martsevich) rethinks a lot in his life.
