I have long been going to see the film Kalyo Kijska “Adventure Seeker” / Nipernaadi, 1983, here finally gathered, and somewhere (I don’t remember where) managed to find a version of quite acceptable quality (I watched without translation, and for those who want there are subtitles). The film is based on the book by A. Gailit "Toomas Nipernaady", 1928, I have not read it. It seemed vaguely remembered that once we were shown it in the film club, there we and Kalye Kiysk sometimes performed, but this is what is vague. This is not a very typical film for its time about such a rather strange subject - Toomas Nipernaadi, who travels around Estonia, first by bicycle, then on foot, meets with different people who blow into their ears their fantasies, invented by him on the go, and women's minds are more susceptible to this, even if at first they resist and do not really believe his stories, that's not for nothing they say that women love with their ears, these are certainly. And we understand that a person of that origin and supposedly those professions that he ascribes to himself, clearly could not invent such a thing. He's been walking all summer, and we're watching him wander. Indeed, the adventurer, and even if he gets involved in very risky circumstances, he somehow manages to get out of them. At the end of the film, we see a completely unexpected ending and find out who he really is. I liked the film, especially Tina Kark in the lead role.
