X-Men: Days of the Future Past In the center of the story, as always, again Wolverine. Hugh Jackman is in great shape, with both bone and metal claws, both past and future, like the Terminator, trying to change the past to change the future. Wolverine added gray and yellow color in the suit, although it is still far from the canonical appearance. The plot finally appeared long-awaited robot guardians hunting mutants, and the scene after the credits is one of the best of its kind (after no less grandiose bonus scene from Wolverine 2). The final scene with the stadium is really impressive, and the parallel editing of scenes of the past and future perfectly keeps the plot balance.
The initial, rather brutal, action of the future looks great. A team game at the Avengers level, there's even a similar moment with the camera whirling, around characters showing off their abilities. New characters, although they say somewhere only one phrase per film, but they turned out to be extremely bright and memorable. Bishop, Warpath, Blink, Sunspot, not to mention the return of Toad and some others. Yes, the potential of a film with such characters was much higher than it was possible to realize, Bishop deserved much more attention, and Havok could be limited to something more than a cameo. Many familiar faces have returned, there will be many references, Easter eggs and surprises.
McAvoy and Fassbender continue to struggle to develop their characters, the first gets the main transformation of the character throughout the film, the second squeezes expression and villainous charisma at the maximum. Stewart and McKellen are finally back in the franchise, famously doling out a young lineup. A good visual went to Mercury, although his scene was completely killed by inappropriate musical accompaniment. But in the first scene with his participation, Alice Cooper plays the background, so the film, in principle, has no problems with music. Yes, and returned to composers John Ottman will please with the musical theme “Xov” from the second part.
The part of the main villain went to Peter Dinklage from “Game of Thrones”, but despite the decently written character in the script, he does not show something really impressive, although they are trying to make an analogue of Hitler. In general, insanely fond of all social analogies, director Bryan Singer switched from his gayness (from this only the director’s admiration of Wolverine’s naked ass remained) to the suffering of Jews, organizing concentration camps for mutants.
On the other hand, Mystic is the main villain in the film, since it was her actions in the past that attracted the creation of the Guardians and a nightmare future. Due to the current popularity of Lawrence, Mystic in the film too much attention, and Xavier’s monologue from the future seems too far-fetched, because in the entire trilogy about his closeness with Mystic was not a single word. However, there are plenty of other inconsistencies in the film, as well as lack of answers to many questions, but they do not spoil the overall impression. And such a rich cast! Crime is not enough Rogue, but the scene with her we expect in bonuses on the dividie, beauty Ellen Page is not too much, but she is certainly a bright diamond in this picture.
In fact, with its time adventures, the film is no longer even like The Terminator, but rather like 12 Monkeys and Deja Vu. It’s nice to see a single, changeable universe at its core, instead of creating unnecessary new branches. The overall concept of the film is beautiful, the plot and entertainment are also on top. If the authors did everything right, it could be the best part of the “X-Men”, however, with a rather voluminous timekeeping. The movie, in any case, came out decent, superhero and comic book. It is really large-scale, not without beautiful dialogues and a number of very memorable scenes. That's just in the future I want to see the old caste, and shoot, unfortunately, will be with the new.
