Dallas Buyers Club is a 2013 film directed by Canadian director Jean-Marc Vallée. I remember the director from the good film Cafe de Flor and Young Victoria.
The film tells the real story of a man, Texas electrician Ron Woodroof, who led a rather loose lifestyle, while straight, who during a random medical examination found not just HIV infection, but already AIDS in full swing and who was given only 30 days of life. But this was not our hero – having overcome the first stage of awareness and confusion, when he began to look for ways to prolong his life with the help of first certified and then uncertified in the United States drugs, which he mined all over the world, first with difficulty getting to Mexico, and then already getting to Japan, using illegal ways, since it was not legal, trying to fight the pharmaceutical mafia, agitating other patients to use alternative drugs, and not just one official, which caused side effects no better than AIDS itself. At the same time, he sold these drugs to the same patients, then organized the so-called Dallas Buyers Club, where hundreds of patients reached. The pharmaceutical industry, and health care in conjunction with it, and the tax service fought with it. But it lasted instead of the promised 30 days 7 years. History, of course, is purely American, not in the sense of illness, but in the sense of the entrepreneurial activity he has developed against this background. The film impresses, first of all, with images of Woodroof himself performed by Matthew McConaughey, who was thin to perform this role to the point of skeleton, as well as District performed by Jared Leto - a transsexual who became attached to him and became his business partner.

From fate not  run ...

Quite common, to this day, the problem of HIV and AIDS in this film is shown in all its beauty. A person trying to survive, at the expense of helping others, is already a great topic for the plot, and director Jean-Marc Valla managed to perfectly convey it to the viewer.

It’s a complex story about the struggle with illness and power of a simple Texas electrician trying to live another new day after being diagnosed with HIV. And he chooses for this not the easiest way - at first banal smuggling and marketing, and later a large scam for the circulation of drugs.

Finding constantly new ways to circumvent the law, Ron Woodroof, the hero of Matthew McConaughey, helps dozens and later hundreds of AIDS patients, like himself, although at first it seems that he is helping only himself.

McConaughey and Summer play in this top-level picture. If for Jared Leto this is not the first film where he plays a drug addict and inadequate young man, then for Matthew McConaughey, who is used to the roles of educated and bright beauties, such a role was a novelty, and he coped with this task on Hurrah. Not for nothing, both actors for the filming of the film were noticeably exhausted. Such a couple suited the picture perfectly. Also striking is the role of Jennifer Garner, who played in this film a doctor who helps the seriously ill. She also struggles with herself and power in the film.

Yes, the film reveals serious social themes, but there are also moments that make you smile. Musical accompaniment is also pleasant, but you do not pay any attention to it, to be honest.

In general, this movie leaves very positive emotions caused by empathy with the main character, his lifestyle and his environment.

The film is worth watching even just for the sake of seeing how dear to each of his, often worthless, but priceless life, how sometimes expensive are things that used to be considered worthless.

In general, appreciate every second of your, perhaps worthless, but still life - someone is not given this at all.

The film is great, with deep social meaning. It is necessary, in my opinion, to view all not indifferent people.
