Metal Beast Not every franchise is able to boast consistently successful and successful sequels, and against the background of the three magnificent previous parts, the fourth looks no worse, updating the list of main characters and adding a lot of new and interesting things. The main action-director of our time again turns a powerful attraction-blockbuster in a real genre sweet, and despite the three-hour timekeeping, the franchise “Transformers” want to watch again and again!
Michael Bay's signature handwriting continues to please his favorite chips. Masterpiece flybys of cameras, sea of explosions, aggressive shooting and the most stunning action that can exist! The franchise stays true to itself and keeps moving forward. From film to film, the story of Transformers and Earth touches on different historical periods. In the first part, it was the discovery of Megatron in the ice, at the dawn of digital and mechanical technology, which made progress on our planet. The second film referred to the era of pyramids and ancient civilizations, the third referred to the landing on the moon, and now the fourth jumps even deeper - starting in the age of dinosaurs!
In addition to spectacular battles between robots, the film should be praised not only for its mechanical entertainment, but also for eerie monsters on an alien prison ship or for the same prologue with dinosaurs looking unusually realistic. To special effects and entertainment there is not the slightest claim, Michael Bay is a real god of visuals and the master of all blockbuster cinema, he simply does not know how to do bad and not beautiful. The soul of the advertiser regularly gives out beautiful model legs, fashionable cool wheelbarrows, which this time are given to open even better than ever - the number of intense spectacular chases here in a wide variety. There's even Rainbow Dash here! Bey is a genius!!!
The story still manages to make cool and interesting, this time in the center of the plot there are two central lines: the mercenary Lockdown and the fuss around the Grain, capable of erasing humanity from the face of the Earth. At first, the installation throws rather disparate sketches along the storylines: the evil corporation, creating transformers on its own, the evil CIA man and his fellow mercenary from among alien robots, the hunt for autobots (an incredibly heartbreaking and tragic scene with Ratchet must make the entire auditorium sob), and finally the main central line of people - father and daughter, caught in this alien conflict.
In general, as for human characters, we finally got rid of the most unbearable personalities of the trilogy - from the hero LaBuff and his obnoxious parents! Although the pretty Nicola Peltz is not as stunning as the model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Jack Raynor is generally the dullest weak link of the cast, completely devoid of charisma and looks like a pale clone of the grief actor Chris Pratt, Mark Wahlberg just drags the whole positive line of the film! Finally, the main character loves guns and does not mind shooting them, here he is the real main character of Transformers, which the franchise deserves! Unfortunately, Duhamel and Gibson did not return as military, which would have given the film even more coolness, but the villainous caste here drags no less than Wahlberg!
Kalsey Grammer - the star of the great series "Boss" and the Beast from "X-Men" is the coolest villain of the movie franchise, in a slight eclipse, say, Patrick Dempsey. A chic Stanley Tuci in the role of an analogue of Steve jobs, famously competes with the retired John Torturro in color and expressiveness of his hero. The music of Steve Jablonski is still beautiful and amazingly beautiful, the main theme of the franchise is not forgotten, but the absence of Linkin Park this time upsets, playing instead of them - does not climb into any gates and in any comparison, especially since Links just in the summer released a fresh album, could at least 1 track to take in "Transformers", as before.
The number of autobots has dropped dramatically, but new faces are well remembered. Here we have a transformer samurai, a transformer with a beer belly, a beard and a cigar, and even a transformer in an elastic metal cloak. And most importantly, the Dinobots! The biggest thing in the franchise has finally made it to the screen! And what is even more exciting is that in addition to the shape of dinosaurs, they are transformed into standard anthropomorphic robots! Grimlock is a fire-breathing tyrannosaurus, a real metal beast in the company of its barbarian associates set the heat to breeding enemies, “armed” with the new assembly technology.
Yes, unfortunately, they all together are not going to something as majestic as Devastator from the second part, but at the same time the entire action sequence with Dinobots turned out to be a grandiose and impressive scene, insanely beautifully shot and colorfully saturated with action, explosions, spectacular slow-mo moments and, in contrast to them, also the speed frantic dynamics of events. Their collective action is able to compete with the best scene from the “Avengers”. Why doesn’t Michael Bay make superhero movies? He would have done better than anyone!
And even when the inner child-fan begins to be a little puzzled by the fact of transformation of the Galvatron into a truck, saying, “Well, how come the Galvatron will not turn into some gun or at least again into a tank?”, then Lockdown immediately appears in the frame, and as a heartfelt request, transforms into a huge gun, causing a sincere powerful delight and desire to jump with joy, blocking the view of all aching in the cinema, because this film is for you! And all those who whine about the script or timekeeping do not deserve to touch the real mainstream cinema! Michael Bay once again exceeded all fanatic expectations and issued a mind-blowing grand blockbuster masterpiece about the battle of giant robots on our planet!
