The heroes moved to the Russian land. To make children's films and cartoons, it is necessary to preserve the inner child. It is to preserve, while remaining an adult, and not to descend to the level of development of the child, as the creators of this film did. Why Bogatyrsha both in the plot and on the schedule looks like it was made by fifth-graders.
We wrote a lot about the schedule in detail. Primitive, squalid, with air-walking characters and rough textures, it has provoked many justified attacks. It is bad in every sense - and the quality itself, and the design of the characters, and facial expressions, and staging and much more. It is she who suggests comparing this cartoon with the project on the literature of students of the 5th grade. For a literature project or graduate degree from a design college, this is good. For professionals whose work is released in wide rental – people, resign, please, animation is clearly not yours.
Disgusting graphics could be tolerated if it was accompanied by a decent plot. But the film did not succeed in that either. If you think about it, the story can be called curious. It has some interesting twists and turns, and it would be fun to watch if it weren’t for the disgusting primitive characters. The main character is still kept at the level of "so-so", although she often sobs and is too naive to justify the title of hero. The rest of them are just awful. An elderly and necessarily not distant tsar; a suspicious, capricious and equally narrow-minded princess, from whom there is such a strong spirit of modernity that she can no longer be called a Russian princess; two down brothers, who in the plot are called valiant knights and behave like offended kindergarteners. Even Gorynych, whose three heads are represented by three different characters, is no more interesting, because all three characters are as boring and primitive as all the others.
What is most upsetting about this primitivism is that Russian fairy tales became the basis for it. They are aimed at children, but they are interesting to all generations. They are full of intelligent and interesting characters, they contain some kind of morality. And I do not understand why it was necessary to simplify an already simple story to primitive, why it is necessary to add modern pop of the most vile type and turn characters into moral freaks.
Another annoying feature of the cartoon is the selection of music. The music here is a merry folk motifs, which are modernized so much that turned into a mix of sounds. They often appear in the most inappropriate places. In a pretentious moment, in a sad moment, in a cheerful moment - everywhere the same cheerful music, as if all this is a comedy in the spirit of Benny Hill.
Only I, having watched cartoons about heroes and a series about mixers, thought that even in terms of animation, Russian cinema is still able to please the viewer, as he immediately began to give one miscarriage after another. A weak continuation of the Snow Queen, even weaker Ivan Tsareviches, disgusting continuations of the same heroes and now this is a talentless creation. However, I want to believe that this phenomenon is temporary, and soon our cinema will again produce high-quality and interesting animation.
