The answer to the eternal question? ... “What is love?” is a very simple and at the same time incredibly complex question. It seems that humanity was primarily concerned with this question, and not with where to get the fire. Every person who has ever lived on this planet has tried to answer it. Someone found an acceptable option for him, someone did not, someone thought that he had found the truth, and someone just loved and did not try to find a definition of this feeling.
Apparently, the latter option is not for the creators of the film “About Love”. I can’t understand my attitude to the film, and this rarely happens to me – usually the film either likes or doesn’t. There was something positive in the film, but there was a lot of nonsense. In general, this film is like a salad - a mishmash of unthinkable ingredients that ultimately give a pleasant taste and even a sense of satiety. Unfortunately, do not forget another property of salads, they are just an appetizer before serving the main course. The film does not carry a semantic load, despite the high festival awards.
The search for an answer to the question “What is love?” has become a farce and parody of human relationships. The film is definitely not about love, it is about physiology, about social relationships, about everyday problems and even about psychological deviations (sex and relationships in anime costumes can be nothing else).
Separately about the cast. The whole team is not bad, but I have one question - are there really no beautiful girls in Russian cinema? Really? I can't believe there's no one more handsome than Bortnich and Danyliuk. I do not know what the hero of Tsyganov found in them, it was frankly unpleasant for me to look at them. Not to mention the lack of acting talent... The hero of Tsyganov, by the way, did not cause anything positive either. Not a young-looking "young man," quite taunted, but behaving like a 14-year-old boy. It's a pity to watch ...
Julia Snigir is a smart girl, perfectly coped with the role of a downtrodden average girl-clerk, which is not visible behind a tray of coffee cups.
Mashkov is strong. As always, in any role, in any film, at any age. A fatal man.
But the main decoration of the film is Renata Litvinova. Stunningly organic in her role, elegant, intelligent, wise and very feminine.
In general, the film is not bad, it is worth watching at least because of the latest novel about the heroine Litvinova and the hero of Efremov. This is something unimaginable – an amazing combination of witty script, competent directing and first-class acting. Just taking off my hat!
Actually, only because of this scene.
