Jack — conqueror of giants Another movie I didn’t get to see in the movies. And unlike the previous “Tools of Death”, this film would have been worth the money spent on it.
Let me start by saying that I like fairy tales, especially if they are well filmed. “Jack the conqueror of giants” refers to just such fairy tales. There is a princess, a hero who saves her, and brave knights, and evil giants who want to take over a fairy-tale kingdom. But there is no logic and an unexpected plot. However, in a children's fairy tale, which, in my opinion, is this film, their presence is not necessary.
The story, as I said, is not unusual. You can see what happens after the first 15 minutes. In addition, it is full of all sorts of absurdities - like the moment when Jack on his old gait overtook purebred royal horses. But despite this, the plot is quite interesting. Especially for lovers of fairy tales, which I consider myself. The only noticeable disadvantage is humor. He's either not very good or none at all. There's not much of it, though. And the last few minutes almost spoiled the impression of the film - a completely extra scene.
The visual part of the film is great. The fairytale world of giants, like themselves, is just a feast for the eyes. I wish I could see them in 3D, they were worth it. But I was always interested in the question – how no one from the ground noticed such a huge block of stone (especially given the last few minutes).
Anyway, I liked the movie. There is nothing special and profound in it - it is just a beautiful fairy tale, which is pleasant to watch in the evening with some tasty thing in your teeth.
