The filmmakers do not deviate from the classical canvas of the plot, and quotes from Gaidai's masterpiece - in our time already looking palpably old school - there are really many in it, but the gaps between them are filled with quite well-made independent; the word "modernization" would be suitable for characterizing the film. In the episode with a banknote stuck to the sole, the classic joke was developed, Gaidai did not think of it. The filmmakers sought, it seems, and the portrait similarity of the characters with the performers of the roles in the film Gaidai; added romanticism in the image of Shurik successfully found Dmitry Sharakois, and Anastasia Zadorozhnaya looks good – the model still, but the charisma of Gluzsky, Mkrtchyan, Morgunov and Natalia Varley, not to mention the powerful Etash, failed to duplicate, because the thing is elusive. Semen Strugachev, too shouldered, Coward does not look very good. With a song about bandito-gangsterito director clearly carried away somewhere in childhood ...
But in general, the result – colorful and dynamic – does not look disastrous and terrible. A positive movie with Eva Polna’s hit decorated with a successful video sequence. If you get used to the movie, why wouldn’t it look better in the future?
