Four years later, Jeffrey successfully graduated with a bachelor’s degree and began to collaborate with several magazines and newspapers. He wrote articles and advised readers on legal issues. Soon Jeffrey decided to continue his studies and entered the faculty of law at Fordham University in New York.
With a law degree, he worked for several years at one of the largest companies in New York on Wall Street. But Deaver didn't like the job. The outlet in Jeffrey’s boring work was the performance and composition of songs. Soon Deaver decided to try writing prose, based on the experience gained in judicial battles. His first novel, Manhattan Is My Beat, was published in 1988. Two years later, Jeffrey, according to critics, became a professional writer.
Jeffrey Deaver writes in a thrilling genre of intrigue. His books have been included many times in the collections of the most authoritative publications, translated into 30 languages and published in large circulations in 150 countries. Divar was nominated for the Edgar Award six times and won the Steel Dagger Award in 2004. In 2009, he received the award for the best thriller of the year. Jeffrey was among the finalists of the famous ITV3 award for best crime thriller. At the Love Is Murder Writers Conference, Dimar was awarded the Lovey Readers Award for Best Book Series.
