In the capital of Great Britain, Chevalier intended to stay six months - but still lives there. She was engaged in evening literary courses, her first story was published in the journal “Fiction”. She worked as an editor for several years, and in 1993 began working on her master’s thesis at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. At the same time, Chevalier, while working as a freelance editor, began writing the novel The Virgin Blue, which was published in 1997. Her second novel, The Girl with the Pearl, was published in 1999. Then she created the novels Fallen Angels and Lady and Unicorn.
