Grigory Pomerants was born on March 13, 1918 in Vilna (now Vilnius). In 1925, with his mother and aunt, he moved to Moscow, where his father lived since 1922, forced to leave his homeland due to problems with Polish defensive. In 1949, Gregory Pomerants was arrested and received 5 years; he was released under an amnesty in 1953 and worked as a teacher until 1956. After rehabilitation, he returned to Moscow, worked as a bibliographer in the department of Asian and African countries FBON-INION, published several dozen abstracts and reviews on the philosophy and sociology of the East. Since 1962, Pomerantz began to write an essay - "Two models of knowledge", "Three levels of being", "Quadrillion" and others; literary and philosophical experiences of the writer are collected in the books "Unpublished", "Dreams of the Earth", "Openness of the abyss". Between 1976 and 1988, Pomeranz’s work was published only in the West. The most important “perestroika” articles are published in the journals “The Century of the XX and the World”, “Issues of Philosophy”, “The Banner”, “April”, “Friendship of Peoples” and others. In 1993, lectures by Gregory Pomerants "Gathering Oneself" were published, in 1995 - a collection of essays from 1959-1994 "Get out of trance".
