Beatrix Potter (28 July 1866, Kensington, London – 22 December 1943, Nir Sorey, Cumbria) was an English children’s writer and artist.
Born in the town of South Kensington (now a suburb of London) in the family of an industrialist. I got homeschooled. In 1900, she published her first work in a tiny circulation - "The Tale of the Rabbit Peter"; in 1902 this story was reprinted, and it was followed by two dozen more stories, including "The Tale of the Squirrel Click", "The Tale of the Rabbit Benjamin",

Almost all her life she lived in the Hill Top estate in the Lake District in the north of England; now in this estate is the Beatrix Potter House Museum.
