Philip Ridley (born 1964) is one of the most prominent writers of the British New Wave, playwright, artist and film director. In his novels, stories, plays and films (cult tapes "Mirror Skin" and "Dark Noon"), he creates a world permeated with black humor and erotic symbolism, where tenderness is intertwined with cruelty, and passion with apathy.
