He worked as a senior engineer, trainer, deputy director, coach of hand-to-hand combat, editor-in-chief of the media, etc. First publication: the story "Melodies of our diaries" ("Two notebooks") in the almanac "Metropol" (1979, USA, ed. "Ardis", 1980, France, ed. "Gallimard", 1999, France, ed. "Pierre Horay"). In 1985, the text of the story was included in the American textbook on the study of Soviet literature. In 1992, Evgeny Lungin shot the film "Angels in Paradise" ("Des anges au paradis", Russia-France), according to our joint script.
The first publication in the USSR - in 1989 - the story "The Apprentice" in the magazine "Youth". Further in magazines and almanacs: "We", "Star", "Petropol", "New Literature Herald", "University Embankment", "Russian World", etc. In 1991, the first book of my prose, The Island, was published in my homeland; in 1999, the second book, Don’t Reject Me.

In the 90s he worked for television, on Radio Liberty. In 1999, he was the author and presenter of the program “U city” on the TV channel “Russia”. On February 28, 2000, his new author’s program “The Witness” debuted at the RTR.
In 1990, he took part in writing the script and shooting in one of the main roles in the film Pantsir (directed by Igor Alimpiev), in 1991 he played one of the main roles in the film Smile (directed by Sergei Popov). In the 90s he made several series of videos about children.
Pyotr Kozhevnikov as the author of scripts and director created documentaries: "Say: Mother!"
