The famous Swedish director Ingmar Bergman was born in Uppsala in 1918. After graduating from Stockholm University in 1940, he became a director of the Stockholm Royal Drama Theatre. Under his leadership, more than 35 performances on the works of classical writers were staged. Since 1941, Ingmar Bergman began to write screenplays for films and in 1944 saw the light of the first film “Bail”.
