Ivan Ivanovich Solovov was born on October 29, 1952 in Engels (Saratov region). After military service in the USSR Navy in 1973, he entered the Faculty of Journalism at the Lviv Higher Military-Political School. Ivan Ivanovich Solovov was born on October 29, 1952 in Engels (Saratov region). After military service in the USSR Navy in 1973, he entered the Faculty of Journalism at the Lviv Higher Military-Political School. Ivan Solov began his professional career in cinema at the Film Studio of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR in 1977, going from editor to artistic director and deputy head of the Film Studio of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR. Simultaneously with his work, in 1981 he graduated from the script faculty of VGIK, and in 1987 - the director's faculty. In 1988, Ivan Solovov created and headed the film company "Mentor Sinema", its president he is now. In 1994-1996 he also taught at the Moscow State Institute of Culture. Ivan Solov is the author and director of more than forty documentaries and feature films shot at various studios of the country, among them Avtograd (1994), Border of Russia (1995), Face of Genocide (1994), Storm in the Balkans (1994), Four C (1995), Know Yourself (1996). Laureate of a number of all-Union and international film festivals, including the silver medal named after A.P. Dovzhenko (USSR, Moscow) for the film "Time of the Third Carthage"; the prize of the film festival "Golden Knight" (Tiraspol); the press prize of Yugoslavia (Belgrade) for the film "Face of Genocide". As director-director Ivan Solov made such feature films as "Deaf Man" (1991), "And sleep with another's wife, OK?" (1992), "Black Ocean" (1998), "Hot Spot" (1998), "Saint and Sinner" (2000). For the film “Caravan of Death” the director was awarded the prize of the festival in San Rafael (France). In 2001, according to the story of Victoria Tokareva “Avalanche” Ivan Solov made the film “Avalanche”.
