Alexander Kott was born on February 22, 1973 in Moscow. After graduation he worked as a photographer. Alexander Kott was born on February 22, 1973 in Moscow. After graduation he worked as a photographer. His diploma work was the short film Scarecrow (2000), which won the Grand Prix of the International Short Film Festival in Hamburg and the Special Jury Prize of the Student Film Competition “Saint Anna” and became the winner in the Kinderfest program of the Berlin Film Festival. In 2001, the director shot his first full-length film "Two drivers drove", awarded the prize "For Best Director" at the festival "Kinoshok" in Anapa. In 2002, he worked on the television series "Circus" and then in Central Asia shot a short film "Giant".
